What does it really mean

Beauty and perfection

Nowadays the perfect woman is seen with a small waist, and small proportions in their body, a thin nose and thick eyebrows, but a big mouth is allowed and bigeyes too. Straight hair is easier to manage and looks better, she has to have a thigh gap but has to be thick at the same time, because big butts are seen as beautiful, but not too big because that is gross. It's not a surprise that plus sized women have a degradable image. A girl can’t be bigger than her partner, not only in size but in height too, she can’t be taller, and on the other hand a man can't be shorter than his partner. For men there are standards too, they have to be masculine and authoritarian, also have to have muscles like abs and a sharp jawline, and like in girls, plus sized men are seen in a bad way, and can’t be smaller than their partner, society nowadays looks for an “alpha” image.

We must always take into account that it is good to promote body positivity. This way we can support all the normal sized bodies that don't feet the perfect standard. But also we must NOT support eating disorders or health problems.

There are multiple types of eating disorders that people develop to fit society standards like:

- Anorexia

- Bulimia

- Binge eating

The rates of depression and anxiety today are high, self image can ruin the way someone perceives themselves. About 80% of teens between 13 and 18 don't like the way they look.

It is totally normal for you to want to look like the best version of yourself, but there are healthy ways to do it.

Equality

How come people are treated different because of the color of their skin or the way they look. Society's purpose is to make everyone look the same and fit their stereotypes.

A controversial topic today is cultural appropriation. The adoption of an element or elements of one culture or identity by members of another culture or identity. This can be controversial when members of a dominant culture appropriate from disadvantaged minority cultures. There is a difference between cultural appropriation and appreciation.

Gender differences

Women are actually 50% of the non-farm US workplace as of 2019. The segregation in jobs is so high that roughly half of the entire workforce would need to change roles in gender (women changing to men dominating roles and men changing to women dominate roles) to achieve accurate gender equality in occupations. This can be considered like an impossible goal considering that the labels we put as a society into the workplace creates unsubstantiated expectations about the jobs and increases stereotypes between male and women. Gender roles in jobs vary a lot, some are more ruled by male than female, and vice versa. Take as an example law enforcement and manufacturing, these are filled with men in the area, but on the other hand education and health are most likely to be a women job. As a consequence to this, women are expected to have more creative and collaborative jobs and men to have independent and strong jobs. These labels are protected by the jobs themselves, making it more impossible for someone of the other gender to have a high charge or even work in the same area, and when they do this is unnatural and deserves to be applauded.

Moving on from actual jobs let's talk about the gender role. A man can’t be seen working as a housewife, or be unemployed, it makes him look weak and feminine which would fit society, because a man is supposed to take care of their family and go out to explore the world. In contrast, the woman is the one supposed to stay home taking care of the family and the house while the husband makes money. If she goes out to work then she must be tough and brave, in some cases masculine.

Freedom

Trough-out the years society has become more open minded. Gay marriage is legal in about 25 countries, feminine men and masculine woman are being accepted. LGBTQ rights are implemented in the majority of the countries and are accepted. The use of pronouns is being normalized and new sexualities too.
Freedom of religion is also a new thing, did you know that in order to create a new religion you only need 2 people?
